1.  I believe that this was taken well because it looks like the kids will go t0 the net. 

2.  This 0ne was is the 0ne I took for the rule of balance.

3.   It should be easy enough for people to see how it is balanced.

4.  I could have went a little to the left to get the net in the photo.

I followed the rule of lines particularly well for a beginner but on some I could have made some improvements.

2.  The rule I tried to follow was lines I followed this rule by making sure that the lines lead to the end of the platform .

3.  It should be pretty clear to most people what that mane theme is for this photo.

4.  I followed the rule well on on this photo, still I could have be taken a better one if I had went to the other side and shot the photo from the back.

african reaction & mural project

The reaction was at first one of disappointment but after scrolling through all of the photos I then felt a certain connection between the photos and other events in life I enjoyed viewing all of the photos.

 This is my most preferred photo that I viewed in the selection.  I chose it because it reminds me of a past event in my late past the elephant roaming aimlessly through the woods his only company is the shadows and the beam of moonlight above him.


The photo shows three important rules of photography.  This rules are

1.  the rule of simplicity
 2.  the rule of balance
3.  and the rule of framing


He uses the rule of simplicity because the elephant is clearly the main subject for it is the only mobile living thing in the photo.

He uses the rule of balance by making the elephant look like it will roam closer to you and not off of the photo.

And finally he uses the rule of framing because of the hole photo being concentrated on the elephant (now mind you that most will wander of after they see the elephant so as to examine the surroundings).

Nick Brandt
1.   The camera that Brandt used was a medium format camera.
2.  His reasoning for taking the photos was that he had a desire to express what he thought was  important and beautiful in his mind.  
3.  His main hope for taking the photos displayed is that he always wanted to express his love of animals and when he took photography ,and visited Africa he found a way to express that love.
4.  Brandt had this to say about Africa "There’s something about the animals here – their mythic, mythological, iconic quality – and the landscapes that they inhabit that moves me tremendously,".  

I believe an appropriate theme would be ether something about forests or something about factory's 

2.  on the cameras would be better because of the fact that some of us (including me) have no phones much less camera phones.
3.  somewhere see-able to students passing by so somewhere in the open the cafeteria or library maybe?  

Academics & Community Service

The name of the photo is Dream world, what you see is a man standing in the woods staring into a orb that is a little bigger than him and the orb shows you the man and the woulds but they look far away when he is very close to it (also the orb is floating).

1.  I chose this photo to be my favorite photo because it peaked my curiosity by creating an alternate reality in which he appears to be the opposite of what he truly is it is fascinating.

2.  the photographer used the rules of framing, balance  & mergers to make the photo look better, he/she used framing to show the man and the orb in perfect alignment to where you can see the details of the man and the orb.  He/she used balance to make the photo look realistic to where the man and the orb look perfectly balanced to a point to where they look like they have a foothold on the ground, and the photographer used the rule of mergers to make it to where the forest and the sky didn't look to chaotic for the photo to make its point.

Filling the frame

I chose this photo to be the most interesting of them all because of how you see the photo.  From what I see there is a class project going on and there watching something inside of the miss you can tell its interesting for not one of them has there eyes off of it except the teacher.

Action & Emotion

This is the most emotional and action giving photo because of the play full nature of the photo.  You can see how the students and the teacher are just having fun and still moving.  Ex: see the boy giving the teacher a nugee.

Best story

I chose this photo to be the best in story because of the fact that you can tell that they are all paying respect to the flag. you can also see how they are all connecting to each other as well.

I believe that the story being the told here is that they are respecting the country and the ones who may have lost there lives to save it.  As they gather around the flag pole to pay there respects to the fallen.

post shoot reflection

1.  Finding the red photo was actually pretty easy and same goes for the metal but finding someone to do the happy photo was not as easy some were to busy and others could not be bothered at that moment but we found some in the gym that had the ability to oblige.

2.   Mostly we focused on simplicity but in one we focused on lines that was the metal one what we did to make this one correct is we made it look like the lines were leading to the end of the platform.


3.  If I could take the assignment again I would try to apply more of the framing rule of photography and maybe some of the rule of thirds.

4.  I would of kept the metal photo of the rails that looked like they were leading to the end of the platform.

Red,Metal,happy

This is Red

we really didn't manage to accomplish any of the six rules here except simplicity.


This is Metal.    we managed to get the lines rule vary well her note how the lines of the rails look like they lead to the end of the platform.

And finally Happy.    Here in happy we only managed to make the rule of simplicity work out here but it is something.

That is all             Fin.    I don't believe I would mind having to take these photos again because it was entertaining to find these photo and was some what of a challenge to me because of the fact that I have not ever taken a photojournalism class before.
